Cotton Traceability – A fruitful collaboration with Product DNA

Since 2019, Ecom Agroindustrial Corp. LTD has entered in a pioneer project with Product DNA Ltd to trace its cotton supply chains.

With the aim to accurately identify the commodity’s fields and offer traceability of our production flow to our clients, we have called on the expertise of Product DNA to support us with advisory services and the creation of multiple models for our cotton supply chains. They have integrated our value chains’ data into Respect-code, an interactive digital platform, that illustrates the journey of our cotton from cottonseed to the delivery of cotton bales’ batches.

With its partnership with SICPA, leading global provider of secured authentication and identification solutions, the KSI® Blockchain technology is integrated in Product DNA’s system for more trust, security and confidentiality in the data provided by our stakeholders. Working with its digital team, we have also automatized the data extraction from our ERP to Respect-code.

The outcomes of this collaboration are greatly productive: an integrated methodology that takes into consideration our needs and objectives, as well as the deliverables of identification codes that are used on each cotton batch. Candiani SPA, one of our main customers, has joined this tripartite traceability project in linking its steps to ours, offering thus an important added-value to customers and shareholders in terms of transparency from the cotton field to the final product.

The traceability system and methodology applicated by Product DNA to the cotton supply chains could be definitely duplicable to any other commodities.
